The short version
- Your survey answers stay in your browser. We don't receive or store them.
- If you buy the Teach in China guide, we keep your email address and a record of the purchase so you can sign in. Stripe handles your card; we never see it.
- We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies) and Google Analytics (cookies; in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland only if you accept them).
- We don't sell your personal information.
- Email hello@findyoureveryday.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.
1. Who we are
findyoureveryday.com ("Find Your Everyday", "we", "us") is run by Unity Industries LLC, a company registered in Alabama, USA. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@findyoureveryday.com.
2. What we collect and why
When you browse the site
- Visit statistics. Pages viewed, how you arrived (for example from Instagram or Google), country, device and browser type, and actions such as starting or finishing the survey or clicking a booking or buy button. For survey completions we record which cities came out on top, not your answers. We use this to understand which pages help people and to improve the site.
- Server logs. Our host, Vercel, processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
When you take the city-fit survey
Your answers are processed in your own browser to calculate your matches and are kept in your browser's session storage so you don't lose your place. They are not sent to us, and they are cleared when you close the tab.
When you buy the Teach in China guide
- Payment. Stripe processes your payment on its own checkout page. We don't see or store your card details. Stripe tells us your email address, name and country where provided, the amount paid, and whether the payment succeeded or was refunded.
- Purchase record. We store your email address, the Stripe reference numbers for your payment, the amount, the date and whether it was refunded. This is how we know you've bought the guide.
- Sign-in. We email you one-time sign-in links (they expire after 30 minutes and work once). Signing in sets a cookie on your device that keeps you signed in for up to 180 days. To stop abuse, we briefly count sign-in requests per email address and IP address (each count is deleted after an hour).
- Reading progress. Checklist ticks inside the guide are saved only in your browser (local storage).
When you book a consultation
Booking and payment happen on Calendly, which collects your name, email, any answers you give on the booking form, and payment details through its payment partner. Calendly shares the booking with us so we can hold the call. Calendly's own privacy policy also applies.
When you email us
We keep your email and our replies so we can help you and keep a record of what was agreed (for example a refund).
3. Cookies and similar technologies
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
fye_tic_access | Us | Keeps guide buyers signed in. Essential. | Up to 180 days |
fye-consent (local storage) | Us | Remembers your cookie choice. Essential. | Until you clear it |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart and links them into sessions, so we can count visitors and see what leads to a booking or purchase. | Up to 2 years |
Vercel Web Analytics doesn't use cookies. Session storage and local storage (survey progress, checklist ticks) stay on your device.
Your choice. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are not tracked with analytics cookies unless they click Accept. Everyone can accept or decline in the cookie banner, and change their mind any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Declining doesn't stop the site working.
Some events (checkout started, purchase completed) are also reported to Google Analytics directly from our server so that sales are counted accurately. If you haven't accepted analytics cookies, these are sent with a random identifier that isn't linked to you.
4. Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run the site. They process information on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Vercel (USA): hosting and cookieless visit statistics.
- Google (USA): Google Analytics.
- Stripe (USA/Ireland): payments for the guide.
- Upstash (USA): the database that stores purchase records and sign-in links.
- Resend (USA): sends sign-in emails.
- Calendly (USA): consultation booking and payment.
- Namecheap (USA): our email inbox.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users' safety, or to a buyer if the business is ever sold (they would have to honour this policy).
5. International transfers
Our providers store and process data mainly in the United States. Where data from the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, it's protected by the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
- Purchase records: for as long as you can access the guide, and afterwards as long as needed for tax, accounting and handling disputes (normally up to 7 years).
- Sign-in links: until used or 30 minutes after sending. Abuse counters: one hour.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Emails: as long as needed to deal with your request and keep records of what was agreed.
7. Legal bases (EU, EEA, UK and Swiss visitors)
- Contract: processing your purchase, giving you access, sending sign-in links and handling refunds.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure, preventing abuse, cookieless visit statistics, and answering your emails.
- Consent: Google Analytics cookies. You can withdraw it any time with "Cookie settings".
- Legal obligation: keeping financial records.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it or delete it (deleting your purchase record also ends your access to the guide);
- stop or limit using it, or object to how we use it;
- send it to you or another company in a common format.
Email hello@findyoureveryday.com from the address the request is about. We'll reply within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland: you can also complain to your local data protection authority. US residents, including in California, Virginia, Colorado and other states with privacy laws: you have the rights above, and you can appeal if we turn down a request by replying to our decision. We don't sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
9. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Sign-in links are random, single-use and stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, and the sign-in cookie is signed so it can't be forged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
10. Children
The site is for adults planning a move or a job abroad. It's not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant and affects guide buyers, we'll also email them.
